About the Organisation Narang Bir-rong Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) was established in August 2018 to ensure the management and provision of Aboriginal services were delivered by an Aboriginal Community Controlled Agency. The delivery of these services however dates back to 2008 when the service originally began. NBAC provides Aboriginal specific out-of-home care, family support and family preservation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families in Western Sydney, Nepean Blue Mountains and connected areas. NBAC recruits, trains, and supports Aboriginal out of home carers and kin, and case manages children and young people in out of home care. Narang Bir-rong believes it is critical to place Aboriginal children and young people in care situations that support their individual identity, self-esteem, and that meet their social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
