We are on the look-out for a skilled Communications Advisor to join the team and help drive communication strategies that resonate with audiences and deliver effective results. For this role you will be a recognised subject matter expert on communications and stakeholder engagement, with experience either as a senior in-house or agency communication specialist.
In this role you will support the development and execution of the communications & advocacy (C&A) plan, provide strategic advice on communicating with impact, and deliver high-quality results for the businesses in Australia and New Zealand. An exciting aspect of the role is its dual delivery focus with around 70% on internal and 30% on external. In this role you will: • Co-own the ANZ internal communications strategy and manage all-employee communications channels such as newsletters, webcasts, digital channels and employee engagement sessions • Deliver innovative communication solutions and content across a breadth of channels that reflect bp’s purpose, ambition, strategy and values & behaviours • Be a trusted advisor for senior leaders to enable strategic storytelling • Use insights, measurement and best practice to drive continuous improvement and inform communication strategy and decisions • Design and deliver integrated communications and campaign plans linked to ANZ business priorities, working with the broader C&A team to ensure coherence and consistency of planning and messages • Lead on the development of core messaging, materials and stakeholder engagement plans for discrete projects and change initiatives • Contribute to the development of the ANZ external advocacy plan • Participate in crisis communications exercises and training as required
As the successful candidate it’s a given you are confident in your craft and an accomplished communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills. You also have: • A keen digital eye and capacity for visual storytelling and creating authentic narratives • The knack for taking technical and complex information and translating it into something simple yet compelling • Extensive communications campaign planning knowledge and experience, including project management and change communications • Experience with reputation management of a large matrixed organisation • Proven ability and confidence to influence and advise leadership on communications issues, including prioritising opportunities that drive value • The capacity to absorb pressure and meet tight deadlines yet still produce high quality work Ideally you have a working knowledge of the energy sector, media relations and crisis communications and are degree qualified in related discipline e.g. journalism, communications, public affairs or business.
