Under the direction of the General Manager of Community Services, the Community Development Program Manager (CDPM) will provide both strategic and operational leadership for the delivery of the NIAA funded Community Development Program across ten communities with a focus on improving quality of life through employment pathways, young adult development and income generating enterprises. The key accountabilities and responsibilities of this role cover: • Ensuring all NIAA program guidelines, funding agreement outcomes and reporting requirements are met by leading the Operational and Reporting Managers in service delivery, data collection and outcome reporting. • Driving CDP team at all levels to embrace the principles of community consultation, local input to program design and high-quality data collection. • Hiring manager duties for all CDP management positions and drive the recruitment efforts for all existing and new positions. • Undertaking systemic advocacy and reform on behalf of and with the GM Community Services in consideration of policy, strategy, budgets, resources and outcomes. • Development and maintenance of positive relationships and networks within ALPA communities to increase the opportunities available for CDP participants. • Contribute to the Community Services Leadership Team and integrate CDP within the strategic direction of the wider organisation.
As the Community Development Program Manager, you will ideally have experience working with remote Indigenous communities, within the CDP contact, managing large teams, delivering contract expectations and have worked strategically within a business. Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite and high-level interpersonal skills are essential, including advanced written and oral communication skills which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities and ethnic origins. You will be a champion of the values of ALPA and demonstrate a commitment to work health and safety daily. Key Selection Criteria 1) High-level management experience in the areas of resource allocations, budgeting, program development and people management. 2) Previous experience working in remote Indigenous Communities. 3) Extensive experience in the delivery of community services. 4) Significant experience in the delivery and reporting requirements for programs tied to grant funding. 5) A management style suitable to agile project delivery. 6) Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
