The Digital Publishing Office provides expert web, design and publishing advice and support to staff across the College, using the Drupal content management system, page layout/publishing technologies such as Adobe InDesign and web publishing tools. The Digital Publishing Coordinator will ensure that the College websites and publications adhere to ANU brand and employ best-practice techniques to ensure a professional and consistent user-friendly experience for internal and external stakeholders
The Digital Publishing Coordinator works closely with other members of the Marketing and Communications Team and with the relevant Central Divisions and Colleges, liaising with and providing high level, comprehensive marketing, outreach and communications service and advice to a wide variety of stakeholders. The Digital Publishing Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of marketing and communications projects, and supports the implementation of various local and University-wide initiatives. Under broad direction, the Digital Publishing Coordinator will: 1. Provide web support to staff within the College by responding to requests, providing advice, creating content and technical web solutions, and assisting with changes to the design structure and functionality within College websites. 2. Provide publications layout and editing support to staff within the College by responding to requests as required, ensuring brand alliance, and providing advice and assisting with the preparation and printing of ANU branded College publications. 3. Coordinate/provide training (including maintenance of manuals) on College website content management systems and online applications to internal clients, particularly local professional and academic staff, and manage auditing of college-managed websites. 4. Coordinate the timely preparation and distribution of periodic and ad hoc reports, performing web content quality assurance and traffic analysis, ensuring that the information produced is accurate, presenting data with insightful recommendations and/or solutions when needed, to inform strategic decisions. 5. Contribute to new marketing initiatives and provide input to develop and improve the area’s marketing and communications practices and processes, with a commitment to continuous improvement and best practice in stakeholder engagement and web-based experience. 6. Assist in the mentoring and development of junior team members and in the coordination of various local and University-wide marketing and communications initiatives, ensuring timely and high quality delivery. 7. Proactively liaise with marketing and communications staff across the University, exchange ideas and information, fostering collaboration across Central and College marketing services to maximise the effectiveness of the communications, marketing and promotional activity undertaken. 8. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures, in particular those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity. 9. Perform other duties as requested, consistent with the classification level of the position and in line with the principle of multi-skilling.
Applicants will ideally have a demonstrated ability and technical proficiency in web design using HTML and CSS (animation skills desired but not essential), as well as web-based and digital environments with the ability to deliver high-quality training to a wide range of staff. SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Degree in a related discipline and demonstrated relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/ training. 2. Proven high-level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate technical information to clients of varying ability, interact with team members and maintain relationships with stakeholders. 3. Demonstrated ability and technical proficiency in web design using HTML and CSS (animation skills desired but not essential). 4. Demonstrated experience in web-based and digital environments with the ability to deliver high-quality training to a wide range of staff. 5. Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload and to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, meeting demanding deadlines and delivering high quality outcomes. 6. Highly developed computer skills, including using contemporary relevant office and marketing and communications tools. 7. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles and policies and a commitment to their application in a University context. Desirable: 1. Experience in using the Adobe Creative Suite of products. 2. Experience in using the Drupal Content Management System.
Classification: ANU07 (IT) Salary package:$88,523 - $92,957 plus 17% superannuation Term: Full-time Continuing - Work in a dynamic, high functioning team along-side other web, marketing and communications experts. - Provide digital publishing services and advice to a variety of stakeholders at Australia's National University. - Design creative content and work on integrative projects, publications and websites.
