The ANU Library is seeking applications from enthusiastic team members with experience in interlibrary loan and document supply services.
The role will be based in the Law Library branch and is part of the Document Supply Service Team. The Document Supply Service Team processes document supply requests received from ANU staff and students and requesting libraries in Australia and overseas, as well as providing support to ANU staff and students using off-campus lending services. The key focus of the Document Supply Assistant is to provide general supply for these requests, and responding to requests within agreed timeframes. The role also supports the provision of users services to Library patrons. Under general direction, the Document Supply Assistant will: 1. Assist in the provision of a document supply service, by responding to requests within agreed timeframes and adhering to procedures for rights management, including copyright and licence agreements 2. Participate in the off-campus lending service for ANU staff and students. 3. Check invoices prior to payment. 4. Provide services across Library branches, by participating in rostered shifts on the Information Desk and provide advice to Library users about Library services and scholarly information resources 5. Participate in meetings, training and professional development activities, planning and general administrative tasks relevant to the work area. 6. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures, in particular those relating to the Code of Conduct, work health and safety and equal opportunity. 7. Perform other duties as directed, consistent with the classification level of the position and in line with the principle of multi-skilling.
1. Degree OR Year 12 and extensive relevant work experience OR equivalent combination of experience and training 2. Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders in a culturally diverse environment and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 3. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage customer expectations whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail and accuracy. 4. Proven ability to learn new skills quickly, including specific Library systems and identify ways to continually improve existing work processes, both individually and within a team. 5. Proficient computer skills with demonstrated experience in using the MS Office suite. Previous experience working with rights management including copyright and licence agreements will be highly regarded 6. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles and polices and a commitment to their application in a university context.
