The Environmental Graduate is responsible for assisting the Environmental Manager with the management and maintenance of the company’s environmental management system, and the environmental monitoring and management requirements to ensure compliance at Bingo’s Patons Lane Resource Recovery Centre and Landfill (the Facility).
The job Support operations to implement the Facility’s environmental management responsibilities to ensure compliance with licensing and approval requirements and commitments. Manage site environmental monitoring systems and equipment and undertake environmental monitoring. Manage the monitoring undertaken by Consultants including ensuring associated equipment remains operational. Facilitate site incident reporting, undertake investigations, and assist site to implement corrective actions to ensure no recurrence. Maintain incident and hazards management system Support site operations to ensure activities are delivered in line with relevant policy, procedures, and legal requirements Investigate complaints and community consultation committee requests. Collate site compliance information and records. Assist with site checks and audits, follow up corrective and preventative actions and support external audits and reviews by ensuring compliance documentation and evidence is recorded and available. Assist with maintenance of the site risk register and controls focused approach to minimise risk. Work with operations team and site management to monitor and manage risks and controls. Assist drafting of reports relating to licensing, inspections and complaint investigation ensuring details are correct and that documents are developed to required standards within required timeframes. Contribute to the planning and delivery of change or continuous improvement projects Provide support for day to day technical and compliance issues and requirements in line with Bingo’s operational and environmental plans and to optimise compliance, resource recovery and other SEQ objectives Assist as required with environmental related projects and programs Ensure that relevant risk/compliance standards are communicated and met and assist with drafting of training materials. Assist with preparation of internal and external environmental and regulatory reports
What you bring Completing / completed a bachelor’s degree in environmental management, science or engineering or related discipline (e.g., applied science) Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills Developing knowledge of environmental legislation and management systems Proven organisational skills and ability to deliver projects on time Demonstrated strong computer skills and a working knowledge of office software packages (MS Office) A NSW valid drivers licence
