The ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE) seeks to advance knowledge through high quality teaching and research. The Events Officer will work closely with the Events and Outreach Coordinator and Deputy Manager Communications and Outreach to support and implement events and campaigns for CBE. The Events Officer is required to contribute to the development and implementation of marketing actions to deliver objectives for College events. The incumbent collaborates with the Communications and Outreach team, and works with a variety of other internal and external stakeholders. The role requires out of hours work and may require some travel. Under the general direction of the Deputy Manager, Communications and Outreach: 1. Coordinate events to ensure College objectives are achieved. 2. Provide event support to the Communications and Outreach team. This may include, but is not limited to; public lectures, Open Day, student experience activities and recruitment events. 3. Provide quality support and coordination for events management such as: • Ensure timely preparation and provision of event invitations and promotional material including emails, as well as the College event and social media web pages. • Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and dissemination of event information. • Ensure compliance with the University brand and Visual Identity Guide (Corporate Style Manual) for preparation of invitations and event brochures. 4. Assist with the preparation of a strategic calendar of events and activities. 5. Actively participate in the continuous review and improvement of events and identify new opportunities. 6. To adhere to and model the CBE Values and Behaviours of Excellence, Robustness, Respect, Collegiality and Unity 7. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures, in particular those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity. 8. Perform other duties as directed, consistent with the classification level of the position and in line with the principle of multi-skilling
SELECTION CRITERIA: 1. Demonstrated experience in event management. 2. Demonstrated high level customer service and effective communication skills with an ability to write clearly and concisely and to consult and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a culturally diverse environment. 3. Proven organisational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise own workload and to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, meeting competing deadlines and delivering high quality outcomes. 4. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles and policies and a commitment to their application in a university context.
