The Executive Assistant/Human Resources Assistant will be the first point of contact for phone, email and face-to-face queries for the Director, Human Resources. They will oversee diary management and venue coordination as well as assisting the HR teams with entry level human resources administrative support. The Executive Assistant/Human Resources Assistant has exposure to the full range of HR related activities undertaken at the University and may have the opportunity to participate in HR-led University-wide projects and initiatives. To be successful you will have relevant experience in administrative roles, and demonstrated strong accuracy, attention to detail, problem solving skills, an ability to manage competing deadlines, and working effectively as part of a team. Our ideal candidate will be highly organised, experienced working in fast paced and regularly changing environments; and have a keen interest in developing their knowledge of contemporary HR practices. SELECTION CRITERIA: 1. Demonstrated experience in an executive support, administrative, or HR generalist role, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/ training. 2. Demonstrated high-level customer service and communication skills with experience drafting business correspondence, reports and meeting papers and an ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders in a culturally diverse environment, dealing efficiently and tactfully with sensitive and confidential matters. 3. Sound knowledge of or an interest in developing knowledge of contemporary HR practices, including the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures related to employment matters. 4. Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload and to use sound judgement, managing competing demands and deadlines and delivering high quality outcomes. 5. Proficiency using the MsOffice suite, especially Outlook and Word. Experience using HR information systems will be highly regarded. 6. A demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity principles and policies and a commitment to their application in a University context.
