Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts are a rich contribution to the world’s culture, and to Australia’s diverse contemporary culture and national identity. As the Executive Director, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts you will have significant impact and influence within Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and cultural sector. The key to your successful leadership will be in your ability to embed a strategy to maximise the public value of the Australia Council’s commitment, recognition and investment towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts. You will lead the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Division and partner with your executive peers to fulfil the Australia Council’s strategic objectives and corporate plan goals.
Specifically, you will: • Lead the strategy for First Nations arts to enhance the partnership between First Nations creators and government, corporate and community agencies • Harness your expertise and provide expert advice to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Strategy Panel • Oversee and develop effective methods to strengthen the Australia Council’s ongoing commitment to First Nations arts and culture
You are a renowned leader who is highly regarded in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community for your extensive knowledge and experience in First Nations arts. You will pair your high-level influencing capability with your advocacy skills to inspire stakeholders to commit and deliver against strategic priorities.
