Working as part of the Coles Indigenous Affairs team, the Indigenous Affairs Advisor (QLD) is a role critical to the ongoing success of the Coles Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Plan.
Based in Brisbane, this role will see you partnering key internal stakeholders in Queensland to implement the Coles Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Plan, including: • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships in Queensland and act as an advisor on all Indigenous affairs matters • Develop and implement strategies to increase Indigenous representation in trade and leadership roles, with focus on internal career development • Facilitate the recruitment and retention of Indigenous team members • Support the implementation of the Coles Indigenous supplier diversity strategy • Provide support and assistance to Indigenous business customers and remote community customers
Your outstanding knowledge of Indigenous histories, peoples and cultures will be central to success in the role. Well-developed stakeholder management and influencing skills will see you thrive in this role where you are expected to promote, identify and be an advocate for Coles and its desire to increase opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations, communities and customers to engage with our business. To be successful in this role you will have proven project / program management experience in a commercial environment, strong understanding of Indigenous employment and career development programs, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
