Mallee District Aboriginal Services provides Health, Family, Early Years and Wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families in the Mallee region of north west Victoria.
The Manager Human Resources (HR) works collaboratively with all managers across MDAS to deliver operational, administrative and transactional human resources advice and guidance to ensure the consistent delivery of the People Basics to ensure a safe, productive and empowering workplace. Leads a team to help the organisation to minimise risk, develop operational excellence in HR Services and coach managers in people management capability. Oversee all facets of Human Resources including: o Recruitment o Selection and Retention of staff o Performance Management o Policies and procedures o Organisational Learning and Development o Work Cover, and o Industrial Relations matters.
You will be an experienced Human Resources leader with substantial experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities. To be considered for this important HR role, you will be: • A dynamic, motivated and experienced HR practitioner with a track record in, and a passion for Indigenous Health and Wellbeing • Able to show experience working in a role which is fast-paced and challenging • Adept with working collaboratively across a complex stakeholder environment and credentialled to represent the views of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families • Known for your strategic capabilities and commitment to fostering diversity, cohesiveness, wellbeing and innovation • Excellent influencing and priority setting skills • Able to ensure workplace policy, planning and decision making are based on research, data, community experience and knowledge. Key Selection Criteria 1) High level leadership, management and change management skills and experience with payroll and HR policies, practices and procedures 2) Extensive experience in strategic and operational human resource management including demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, formulating new approaches and developing culture, workforce improvement strategies and workforce planning 3) Ability to cultivate productive working relationships (internal and external) and excellent interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation, consultation and people management 4) Ability to advocate, negotiate and resolve complex issues and have excellent organisational skills including the ability to determine priorities, attention to detail and meet regular deadlines 5) Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services. 6) Bachelor or Diploma in Human Resources or related discipline and/or extensive relevant experience Other Requirements A current Driver’s Licence that allows you to work in Australia A current Employee Working With Children Check card A current National Police Check
