The First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria is the voice of Aboriginal people in Victoria in the next stage of the Treaty process. It is made up of Victorian Traditional Owners, elected by Aboriginal Communities, for Aboriginal Communities, to advance our rights, interests and benefits. We are recruiting for a Manager, Policy and Research to support Assembly Members as they negotiate with the State to set up the architecture for Treaties.
The Manager, Policy and Research leads a team that provides high quality policy and research support to Assembly Members as they negotiate with the State to set up the architecture for Treaties. Reporting to the Treaty Advocate, the Manager is responsible for providing excellent advice to leaders about key matters related to Treaties, and other issues of significance to the Assembly as they arise.
This is an identified role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Experience working with the Victorian Aboriginal Community, proven ability to lead a team to achieve outstanding results, demonstrated policy and/or research experience, effective written and verbal communication skills, strong influencing skills, and the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
