You will be responsible for supporting the organisation to develop and oversee implementation of our ambitious vision. You will collaborate with fellow board members, contribute expertise and advice to the CEO and senior leadership team across matters including operations, finance and risk, environmental challenges, governance, fundraising, communications and media, business and planning. The Board delegates all management responsibilities to the Chief Executive Officer, who has wide management authority, which is limited and guided by the organisation’s policies, the Board and sub-committees of the Board. You will be an experienced senior executive either in the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community, or someone who can provide strong leadership and a skillset in either Sustainability and Environment Campaigning, Law, Fundraising, Environment, Government, or Finance. Essential Requirements • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Sustainability and Environment Campaigning, Law, Fundraising, Environment, Government, or Finance. • Passion for wanting to inspire, empower and lead people and communities to take action, building power to solve the climate crisis, achieve a healthy environment and secure a fair and thriving Victoria. Highly Desirable • Cultural competency covering an understanding of Indigenous people and their communities. Additional knowledge of policy matters relating to Indigenous peoples and their environment.
