Department of Regional NSW is currently looking for a Regional Aboriginal Partnerships Officer for the Hunter & Central Coast.
The role of Regional Aboriginal Partnerships Officer is to identify and deliver support services to, and in partnership with, Aboriginal communities that improve economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal people in the Hunter and Central Coast. Key Accountabilities, but not limited to: • Co-design solutions that utilise NSW Government programs to increase economic participation, grow employment, improve skills and employability and improve services for Aboriginal people in regional NSW, with a particular focus on the Hunter and Central Coast. • Participate in the delivery of project and policy development. • Utilise NSW Government facilitation services for the development and implementation of regional strategies and initiatives. • Prepare briefings, correspondence and advice to Executive and Ministers. • Managing internal and external consultations and negotiations with a wide range of stakeholders. This role reports to the Deputy Director.
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to collaborate with Government agencies and key stakeholders to deliver on key regional outcomes. You will have a sound understanding of current regional issues and have the responsibility of managing projects and working with a diverse range of stakeholders to analyse issues, solve problems and meet project deadlines. It is essential you are a strategic thinker who is capable of operating both independently and as a member of a supportive team. You thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment and are confident in exercising autonomy when responding to and resolving sensitive issues. Strong knowledge of government agency functions is a must. Essential requirements: • Strong knowledge of the workings of Government, including Ministerial roles, agency functions and central agency responsibilities and capacity to achieve results in these contexts. • Sound understanding of the environmental, social and economic regional issues facing governments, agencies and Aboriginal communities. • A current driver’s licence.
