The Senior Manager Planning and Transformation provides advice and support to the PVC IERE, Professor Gary Thomas, in managing projects and the operations of the Office. The Senior Manager, Planning and Transformation is required to work effectively across all levels of the organisation, developing productive working relationships with stakeholders including all members of the OIERE leadership team, staff and business partners from other colleges and OIEREs. The role is responsible for ensuring the Office is operating efficiently and effectively, including in its key planning and reporting processes. This new position sits within the The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement (OIERE) and has oversight of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander activities University-wide and represents RMIT externally in Indigenous matters. The position will provide leadership and operational support to Professor Gary Thomas who is RMIT’s first Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education, Research and Engagement. Professor Thomas leads the University’s Indigenous policy, strategy and engagement with partnerships, and provides insight and directions in education, innovation and research, employment and Community engagement.
To come and join our team, you’ll be required to meet the following criteria: Must identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person Excellent understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures with demonstrated effective experience in engaging with communities Proven management skills including the capacity to initiate, lead and manage continuous improvement in a challenging and dynamic environment. A high level interpersonal consultation and negotiation skills and the ability to work closely with senior managers/executives. Experience in financial and resources management, planning and delivery and of business services in the tertiary education sector. High level problem solving and analytical ability and a commitment to quality assurance, legislation and risk management. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to produce clear briefs and reports on complex issues. High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to lead, direct and influence others, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups. Proven strategic mindset successfully able to navigate both strategic and operational complexity and ambiguity.
