The Services Manager - Employability, Experience and Support is the principal advisor to senior management and College community on student services, employability and experience. The position provides high-level, strategic student administration advice, guidance and support and contributes significantly to the identification and implementation of student employability and experience initiatives to support the College’s strategic objectives and goals
The Services Manager - Employability, Experience and Support leads and manages the Student Support, Employability and Experience team. This team supports coursework and HDR students throughtout the student lifecycle, from acceptance of a place through to graduation. This includes orientation and induction, academic advising, enrolment planning and management, internships and employability preparation, and support services. The position works in close collaboration with senior staff to provide high-quality, strategic advice and support, builds professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supports the College community to achieve excellence. Under broad direction, the Services Manager will: 1. Provide effective leadership, management and engagement to the Student Services, Employability and Experience team, ensuring that all objectives and deadlines are met or exceeded, supporting their career development, knowledge sharing and multi skilling to build a highly performing team. 2. Ensure that proactive, strategic, and expert advice is provided to the College leadership group and broader community, with a focus on improving the service the team provides. Identifying the community’s issues, needs and concerns to create and implement strategic and service orientated solutions, working in collaboration with the College community and wider ANU. 3. Support the development and implementation of strategic plans and business improvement projects based on strategic objectives, ensuring appropriate consultation, time frames and budgets are adhered to. 4. Proactively lead and manage project initiatives and team activities through knowledge sharing, reporting and performance improvement, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. 5. Create an environment which fosters cross collaboration, creative problem solving, critical thinking and cognitive flexibility; while ensuring adherence to all University policies and procedures and relevant legislation. 6. Create and implement protocols to ensure data integrity, accuracy and strategic maximisation of the workforce profile, managing the resolution of data integrity issues by working closely with staff in the other service areas. 7. Play a key role in University wide initiatives, promoting them and managing the local area consultation and roll-out, if applicable, and participate in a range of activities, workgroups and networks across campus, as required. 8. Comply with all ANU policies and procedures, and in particular those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity. 9. Perform other duties as requested, consistent with the classification level of the position and in line with the principle of multi-skilling. Some adaptability may be required based on complexities of seasonal workflows in the sector.

Relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or demonstrated extensive experience in a service-led student administration team and support services delivery and management, preferably in a higher education environment. 2. Proven strategic advice and planning skills to support senior management and experience developing and implementing student support policies, procedures and strategic plans to improve student outcomes. 3. Demonstrated experience applying contemporary student administration and support management practices and proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including experience analysing data from multiple sources and making recommendations on strategic initiatives. 4. Demonstrated people management and engagement experience in a culturally diverse environment, with an ability to coach and mentor staff, to prioritise workloads and to lead the team to deliver on challenging objectives in a timely manner and on budget. 5. High level of interpersonal, liaison and consultation skills with demonstrated effective communication skills and experience leading consultation processes on complex staffing matters and developing comprehensive written documentation and reports, including policies and procedures. 6. Demonstrated computer skills with experience using online HR management systems and proficiency using the MsOffice suite. High-level skills in Excel and experience using Visio for complex business diagrams will be highly regarded. 7. Classification: Senior Manager 1 Salary package: $113,421 - $118,839 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full time, Fixed Term (15 months)
