About the role
The CEO will lead AIGI through a dynamic period of growth, providing strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the organisation. This includes guiding staff, programs, partnerships, and the execution of AIGI’s mission to strengthen Indigenous governance. The CEO will also serve as a key advocate for Indigenous governance and nation building—building and nurturing strategic relationships with government, philanthropic partners, and community stakeholders. This role requires a visionary leader who can translate strategy into action, amplify Indigenous voices, and position AIGI as a national leader in governance excellence.

About you
AIGI are seeking an experienced and community-rooted leader with a deep understanding of Indigenous governance and nation building. The ideal candidate will have executive management experience, governance experience and a proven track record of working with government. Highly desirable attributes include understanding of historical and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, RTO frameworks, data-informed decision-making, business development, and advocacy.
