About the role
The Senior Manager, First Nations Services is a key leadership role reporting to the Head of First Nations Services. The role is responsible for strengthening and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of services provided to First Nations young people across YOTS and their communities.
This position drives service delivery within a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring programs are culturally safe, effective, and aligned with YOTS’ strategic direction. You will oversee program performance, contractual compliance, financial management, and lead culturally informed workforce planning.
As a Senior Leader, you will play an important advocacy role in sector forums, build strong operational partnerships, and champion First Nations values across all aspects of our work.

About you
You are a strong and culturally grounded leader who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. You will bring a deep understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and community dynamics and a passion for supporting young people. You will demonstrate experience in senior management roles, ideally within not-for-profit or community organisations, along with strong leadership capabilities to mentor, develop, and empower high-performing teams. Your ability to build and sustain meaningful partnerships with First Nations communities, funding bodies, and key stakeholders is complemented by excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Above all, you are committed to cultural safety and trauma-informed practice in all aspects of your work.
