About the role
The RAP Manager will lead the development and implementation of SCC’s Reconciliation Action Plan, playing a key role in advancing our commitment to reconciliation. This position will coordinate diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies in collaboration with stakeholders to foster a culturally safe, inclusive, and diverse workforce. The role requires a forward-thinker with strong project management and communication skills, and a passion for highlighting the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and clients. The RAP Manager will also support continuous improvement to embed reconciliation practices across SCC.

About you
You are a proud Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with a strong commitment to reconciliation and cultural safety. You bring deep cultural knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating inclusive, respectful environments. Confident working with a wide range of stakeholders—from Elders and communities to executive teams—you’re both a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer. You’ve led or supported RAPs or similar initiatives and are ready to help embed reconciliation at the heart of SCC’s work.


Key Selection Criteria

  1. Cultural Knowledge – Lived experience and deep understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contemporary issues.
  2. Community Engagement – Proven ability to build respectful relationships with Elders, communities and stakeholders to support reconciliation.
  3. RAP Leadership – Experience leading the development and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans or similar strategic frameworks within complex organisations.
  4. Project Delivery – Strong skills in managing projects, coordinating working groups, and supporting continuous improvement in diversity and inclusion.
  5. Communication – High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels and create culturally safe dialogue.
  6. Capability Building – Experience delivering cultural awareness training and supporting organisational learning and cultural capability.
